The organisation of the academic year 2024/2025 in Lithuania is as follows:

Institutions are autonomous, but typically, 16 weeks per semester are dedicated for teaching activities (lectures, practical work etc., including 1 week for self-study). Typically, the autumn semester starts on the 1st September, the spring semester starts on the 1st February. |

Institutions are autonomous, but typically, the last 2-4 weeks of each semester are allocated to examination sessions. In some cases, students sit examinations or pass the test upon completion of the course unit and thus have no special examination period. |
